   History of the Palace

The Palace is situated in Janow, district Olszanka, commune Brzeg, province Opole, nearby large village - Losiow (1km). The village is situated at the old road connecting Opole (38km) and Wroclaw (46), 10 km away from Brzeg and 10km away from new motorway A2.

The palace was built at the beginning of XIX century on the remains of the old property with the usage of the old foundations and surrounding park. The property is situated on the small hill in the middle of the park (1.5 ha) that is surrounded by a brick wall from the road side and by a fence on the remaining side. There are about 320 beautiful old trees of the age between 90 to 160 year old. These are maple trees, sycamore trees, chestnut trees, hornbeams, ash-trees, platens, willows, yew-trees, oaks and elms. In 1999 all these trees were treated, protected and cleaned. The park was shaped up to its original look. Further, old anti-lightning installation was replaced.

The beautiful neo-baroque gate stands at the entrance to the property nearby is the VII century granary and a bower is situated at the back of the garden. There is a field in the park that has already been conditioned for either future tennis court or a volleyball court. There is also water pond that needs renovation. In 1913 the palace was renovated and updated hence today's classic style of the outside elevation.

The first information about the property comes from 1755 and registered Von Tschirsky as the owner. The palace also had an agriculture land (500-700ha). The last owner was Otto Moll (1905-1939). After the Second World War the ownership went to the government and was converted into a farm. Currently, the property (palace and 1 ha of the park) is in possession of Ewa Nazarczuk and the remaining farm and buildings belong to other owners.
